The Ingersoll Rand MBA Program was established in 2003 through a partnership with the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. This program was created to enable Ingersoll-Rand to make a strategic investment in graduate business education. The Ingersoll Rand MBA Program replaces the Executive MBA Program and is fully funded by the company.

Program Description

The Ingersoll Rand MBA Program is a fully accredited, three-year, 48 credit hour degree program. The curriculum is aligned with Ingersoll Rand’s unique business strategy and leadership development needs while providing participants with a high-quality, well-respected graduate business education. Graduates of the program are awarded the Kelley School of Business Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

The faculty consists of full-time, tenured faculty members that teach in other Kelley School of Business MBA programs. The faculty is renowned for their teaching, research, and consulting expertise and the school has established a reputation for delivering high-quality, executive education and corporate MBA programs. The Kelley School of Business MBA is ranked #17 in the United States by Business Week.

Participants will enter and finish the Ingersoll Rand MBA Program together as a group or cohort, which will consist of 20 to 30 IR leaders. The cohort approach supports Dual Citizenship by enabling participants to deepen their knowledge of Ingersoll Rand businesses through collaboration in team-based assignments throughout the program with Ingersoll Rand leaders from different parts of the company.

The Ingersoll Rand MBA Program has an emphasis on global business management, and is intended for high-performing and high-potential leaders who will benefit from graduate business education based on their current performance and future career objectives with Ingersoll Rand. All participants must meet the minimum eligibility criteria. The following target audience will benefit from the Ingersoll Rand MBA:

Business leaders who have advanced in their careers to positions of significant responsibility, but have not had an opportunity to benefit from a graduate business education.
Managers and individual contributors with proven performance and career objectives that include advancing to positions of greater responsibility.

The Ingersoll Rand MBA Program is a blended program delivered through a combination of required in-residency periods and Web-based coursework. Participants will use online discussion forums, online testing, audio and video streaming, and simulation based learning as well as collaborate with other participants and faculty. Participants will access most course materials online through asynchronous delivery.

The blended program is specifically designed to support working professionals and to help participants effectively balance the demands of family, work, and school. The workload will vary throughout the program, but will require a range of 15-20 hours each week of coursework and study time. When taking one course the workload will typically average 10-15 hours per week, while two courses will often require about 20 hours per week. The program is a 3 year commitment to allow participant’s to manage the weekly workload of the program in addition to their regular work schedule. IR is fully funding and sponsoring the program and releases participants to attend four required in-residence sessions over the course of the program.

Ingersoll Rand’s Eligibility Criteria

Consistently rated in the top two performance categories for two consecutive years
Five years work experience, with three of those being in regular full time employment with IR
Undergraduate degree
Employee agrees to the repayment provision in the event they voluntarily resign from the company during or within 2 years after program completion
Commits to an average of 15-20 hours per week for study and coursework
